Projects Rail ERTMS
Overview
ERTMS is the European Rail Traffic Management System which intends to bring interoperability to the European railway system and especially to the train command & control systems. Since 2000 Edward has been involved, as an independent consultant, in ERTMS railway signalling implementation projects, such as Betuweroute A15 ERTMS freight line and Havenspoorlijn. In these projects he was mainly responsible for technical project management and safety risk management.

Responsible for:
- Management of ERTMS delivery contracts with supplier Alstom;
- Delivery of safety case conform Cenelec standard 50126-50129 and CSM;
- Management of approval processes of ISA, IL&T (vergunning), ProRail (TvG);
- Management of NoBo-certification according to Interoperability Directive 2008/57/EC;
- Management of track-train integration testing programma;
- Management of task force to improve performance of Betuweroute A15 L2 system by solving ERTMS-GSMR connection problems;
